Full Circle

I've come full circle...or is it just a circle jerk?

Blogger beta ate my last last blog teplate so I've return from which I came. I'll be working on a new template but I'm trying to write and submit. So if anyone is getting vertigo from my incessant format changes - sorry.

Funny you should say full circle.
I am exactly at that point in my work.

And ain't that a kick in the ass.

That's exactly why I haven't signed on yet. I know my blog design will be toast once I do.

Ivan,
Seems like we all come full circle in one way or another.

Tanya,
I have no idea what happened but it's gone into the blogger abyss. I still can't convert. I really like my template too, oh well...life goes on.

RJ,
No problem reaching your blog after your email...
Thanks for the explanation and heads up!

One another topic, I've wanted to get a convo going re: the Publishing industry / readers prefs, along with my feelings re:
the Supreme courts decision re: The Da Vinci Code, also known as:[TDVC]

Things are ever evolving in the world of Publishing.

And I truly believe Lew Perdue [no, I don't personally know him]
got a royal rip-off from the ill-knowledged-in-copyright-law Supreme Court.

But, 'nuff, already. Today is a special day........

Dory's Law says: When Ohio State vs Meech-i-gan U. game starts, one is allowed to revert to Neanderthal intellect. ;)

Tonight the Cavs (LeBron James) play da' Wizards....heh, heh.

Nothing deep nor profound will pass my lips, today OR tomorrow...(Browns 'n Steelers )

Monday, folks. . . . .Monday. Hopefully, I will be sick of sports by then. Maybe.

Y'all have a good weekend.

D.L.,
Hope all the blog problems are fixed.

I have read any of the author's books that claimed plagerism - have you? If you did do you think those authors have a clain against DB. I think there is still a case going on on Brittan. Maybe there justice will prevail.

RJ,
The subject of plagiarism has been a thorn in my side for more years than I care to tout here.

When Lew Perdue's case became evident online and in the media, I decided to jump in and read every thing pertinent; and that included all filings, briefs, etc. (they sure take a lot of space in my office and on my 'puter :) Plagiarism scares the hell out of me, but I wanted to make up my own mind.

TDVC, is one of the most couched incidents of blatant plagiarism I've ever seen.

Yes, I read, Daughter of God, DaVinci Legacy by Perdue, and finally, Dan Brown's piece.

I have NOT read Holy Blood, Holy Grail, yet, and frankly I don't know if I will.

After reading Perdue's stuff that he says DB stole, I was still on the fence. Then I read DVC and saw some 'sames' but not enough to scream bloody plagiarism.

Upon initial readings of all the tomes, I made the mistake in looking for obvious copycatting; not paying attention to philosophical and historical info dumping.

In all honesty, I don't know a lot about religion, except it exists. Yet, I might be able to hold my own when arguing that a priest should be able to marry.

Where I fall embarrassingly short, is in the deepest archives of truths that a lot of people don't know. E.G.: the Gnostics.

Here's is the biggest smoking gun: Lew Perdue took the info re: the Gnostics ( anyone can use it ) and ADDED his own slant beyond what is historically known or accepted. In short: Lew Perdue 'created' a complicated, piece of fraud to suit his story. So, what.

Now tell me HOW that info ( that has Lew's name written all over it ) made its way into the DVC?

Blythe Brown does / did the research for her husband. I believe she thought what she 'researched' to be based on FACT. Oooops, it wasn't. Dan Brown copied a lie.

I mourn that Lew Perdue, was denied his chance in court. I hope that will fade in time.

Worse, I MOURN the anticpation of what will happen as a result of Random House and DB getting away with it.

I go back a while and can show, ( if I still have the books ) plagiarism that never got challenged back in the 90's.

Already (I'm sure all are aware) the frequency of plagiarism via the internet and otherwise. Someone, anyone tell me how / why there won't be open season declared on ANYONE's MS? WIP or Published....

Writers have enough to worry and learn about, with out paranoia being so rooted in their everyday lives.

Oh, well. Despite the Browns lose to Steelers in a game they should have won, Cavs got creamed by the Wizards.....BUT Weekend wasn't a total loss, OSU beat Meeech-i-gan .....Life ain't that bad....I guess.

I'd welcome anyone's comments.....but, leave LeBron James alone. Maybe he'll adopt me as his 'white' gramma. ;)

Dory who graciously thanks RJ, for the vent time.
